Previous and current constructions, Mexico 100 years
This is how our Mexico City looks before and now as time goes by our Mexico City we can see that there are constructions such as architectures in which it has passed for 100 years.
Definition of architecture
ArchitectureIn a general sense, architecture is the art of designing and constructing buildings. It can also be defined as the set or perspective that a building presents.
Some define it as the art of building and others add it “according to the principles of beauty”. In this sense, the definition has been understood in various ways. The word architecture also encompasses the purely material concept of construction, applicable to all orders of the modern economy. Thus, we have a monastic architecture, another civil, military, naval, hydraulic, industrial, funeral, commemorative or monumental.
In addition, each civilization has determined a special characteristic in the art of its constructions.
The origin of architecture is found in that of the room and where primitive man dwells, there we find the rudiments of constructive art.
From the cave, from the lake room, the most complicated forms are born.

Obviously, not all architectures are the same since not all respond to the same needs. A classification of three types of architecture is usually made:
1.- Historical or stylistic architecture.
2.- Popular or traditional architecture.
3.- Common or vulgar architecture.
For art historians, architecture is reduced to those works that take into account space and artistic languages.
In light of this position, historians limit themselves to studying a selection of key architecture that is especially significant within the development of art history. Classical Greek or Roman works fall into this definition Architecture.
Popular or traditional architecture
Defining popular architecture poses difficulties.
A distinction can be made between vernacular architecture and primitive architecture.
The differences between the two are given by the different degree of technical complexity and by the allusion or not to historical or stylistic architecture.
Primitive architecture tends towards territorial definition with rituals, while popular architecture seeks in the first place the optimal solution of the function.
Characteristics of popular or traditional architecture:
•The prominence of the materials and construction techniques of the area.
•The direct participation of the user in the project and its implementation.
•The use of a simple formal repertoire with some references to learned languages.
•The perfect adaptation to functional needs.
Common or vulgar architecture
There is an architecture that cannot be considered neither historical nor popular. It is one whose sole objective is utility without any kind of link with historical architecture or artistic pretensions.
It is the vulgar only utilitarian architecture that fills the cities.
These differences have not always existed, but each historical period has had its own conceptions of architecture and its difference with simple construction.

What is the difference between old and current buildings in México?
Old: In what is currently Mexican territory and that carried out by Mexican architects an other countries, whose influence is very marked and notorious, referring to the constructions of pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern Mexico.
Due to the artistic relevance of many of Mexico’s architectural structures, including entire parts of pre-Hispanic and colonial cities, they have been designated a World Heritage Site.
The country has the first place in the number of places declared a world Heritage Site by Unesco in the American.
Current: Calling it current Mexican architecture does not refer only to what is done now. To become current, colonial, pre- Hispanic, viceregal, and vernacular architecture had to take a leap, and all of this began with functionalism.
At the end of the last century, it began to leave its mark on the works of those times, the style was still quite Europeanized, so it was not until José Villagrán García and Juan O’Gorman, introduced a plastic proposal that materialized the new nationalism that it began to emerge after the Revolution.

Current constructions.
They are the visual fact that we wish to examine in its various aspects, it must be located in its true place, which is very relative.
At the beginning of the 20th century, photography, like other arts, evolved in technique and in composition and becomes one of the main tools to understand a work of architecture:
both for the analysis of the project and for the dissemination of the work.

The new Mexican architecture has the form and concepts of a market globalization, you can still find values that recall vernacularism manifested in its colors; the architecture of the no-place is increasingly evident in the daily spaces of the urban centers of the country, technology and prefabricated building elements erects large commercial buildings, housing parks, and recreation areas, as well as state-of-the-art airport spaces, bus terminals, train stations or metro, large luxury hotels and industrial architecture.
The recycling of buildings is another trend that is valuing old industrial structures, colonial or modern for indefinite uses ranging from housing, spaces for art and culture or government or corporate offices, this ideology tries to temper costs and recover forms of the past.
Smart and corporate buildings are a clear example of avant-garde architecture in Mexico, they are part of large urban projects of certain sectors or of large avenues of Mexican cities are characterized by having operation controlled by machines, such as air conditioning, lighting, systems seguridad, etc.
Mexican architecture starts from vernacularism and manifests itself with technological advances
of the XXI century of international architecture.
